Unique Mahabharat Range lies on the south / west of Katmandu Valley and very close to the Capital city Kathmandu. The villages are reachable within the 4-5 hrs by walking distance and 2-3 hrs village road drive to Chitlang, One can continue to Royal Chitwan National Park and Tarai (Lowland of Nepal) Characteristics of the villages: Geographical diversity, flora and fauna. The village route was the only way to international link to India in the Rana regime. Most Importantly the first car has brought through the village carried by human portage for Royal family. The village it self will be a unique destination for the visitors. Nepal has more than 36 different ethnic groups, among them Tamang, Magar, Chhetri, Bramin, Newar & Gurung who lives in the area and they all have their own culture, tradition according to their own religion.The villagers are deprived of many basic amenities. With the view to up grade the socio- economic condition of the villages, Alps Adventure Trek has come up with a project to promote village Tourism.
Day 01: ARRIVE KATHMANDU
Meet at the airport by company representative and transfer to hotel, Rooms will be assigned followed by short briefing about your programme.
Day 02: KATHMANDU – CHITLANG
45 minute drive to Thankot (PaniGhat) from Kathmandu and commence trek to Chitlang village. One & half hrs steep climb to Chitlang Deurali 2000m. Breath taking Himalayan panoramic view and over looking beautiful valley of kathmandu city. Two hrs descend through the tropical forest to Chitlang village for Lunch and Camp. Explore the Chitlang village in the after noon and over night stay.
Day 03: CHITLANG
Wake up call at 6:30 AM followed by bed tea, washing water and Breakfast. After Breakfast commence village tour with Pack Lunch. Visit to the traditional Newari home, goat farm test of goat cheese, local village school and back to Camp for over night stay.
Day 04: CHITLANG – MARKHU
Wake up call at 6:30 AM followed by bed tea, hot washing water and Breakfast will be served. After Breakfast commence trek to Markhu. The trek will be along the village terraces cultivated field, meeting local people and life style of the country side and reach camp at markhu beside Kule khani Lake (dam) for over night stay.
Day 05: MARKHU – PURANDI
Wake up call at 6:30 AM followed by bed tea, hot washing water and Breakfast. After Breakfast commence trek to Purandi. Trek along the village road with view of kule khani Lake and beautiful valley view. Reach Purandi village for over night camp.
Day 06: PURANDI – KAPHLENI
As usual for morning and after breakfast start gradual climb and trek along the ridge through the mixed forest to open animal grazing spot for breath taking himalayan views. Slowly descend to the camp at tranquil Kapleni village for over night stay.
Day 07: KAPLENI – PHARPING – KATHMANDU
As usual: serve the bed tea and follow by Breakfast. After Breakfast we slowly proceed the journey to Pharping following the main trail and visit the Dakshin Kali Hindu temple where many Chicken and Goats are sacrificed every Tuesday and Saturday and continue to visit Budhist Monastary (Gompa) above Pharping. After visiting the temple Gompa we drive to Kathmandu - end of the Trek.
Day 08: Transfer to airport and final departure for onwards Journeys.
